So Good To Be Home

We have been home a week now. We got home last Thursday and I was really sick. I had pink eye and a bad cold. The first 5 days or so I was unable to sleep. Jayda did well she slept most of the night, but unfortunately I could not sleep at the same time. Needless to say I felt like a zombie. Jet lag was really kicking my butt. :(

My baby just could not have been any better. She bonded with Daddy really quickly. I really think talking to Daddy and the boys everyday on FaceTime made all the difference. She was smiled at him right away and let him hold her right after we got home. She loved the boys right away too. They have played and played with her. She really loves playing kitchen and riding on her ride on toys.

Back in the Good Ole USA

Here we sit at LAX. We had a 6 hr layover here. Jayda has been happy she has been all over this nasty floor. The last flight was super long. She slept pretty good, but woke up every 30 minutes crying. She would cry a few minutes or seconds then go back to sleep. Of course I was never able to sleep.
Immigration and customs went well. I am sure we were a sight with 10 bags a backpack and a baby that was done with this process.
Our next flight leaves in 1 hr at 11:50. I am praying for some sleep, but I do not expect it.

Have I lost my Mind?????

We went shopping today. My mom wanted to go to the fabric market today. It was huge and there were literally millions of fabrics. My mom had a great time, Jayda did not. She cried, fussed and wiggled on me for 2 straight hours. When we left I was miserable and unbelievably sore. Then we went to the stationary market. Luckily Jayda slept and my mom carried her around. Then we were dumb enough to go to Shamian Island for more shopping.
Jayda is my 4th child, you would think I would have learned along the way to not take a toddler shopping. Whew!!! So glad to be back in the room.

Safari Park

We had a great day at Safari Park. It is a huge park. It is very clean and pleasant. The animals are so close.
My baby is so sweet. Jayda was good the whole time. She sat in her stroller and had a fine time. She took a short nap then woke up happy when we rode the train thru the open range safari. All in all it was fun, but we were worn out by the end of the day.

Shopping Day

We had a nice day today. We left the hotel early and went to the pearl market. We bought lots of beautiful jewelry for a great price. I got both my girls matching pearl necklaces and Jayda a Jade pendant. Then we went to Shamian Island for more shopping. We got some really cute shoes, a hand painted tea set and some other cute stuff for the kids at home. Jayda was perfect, except she threw up all her bottle in Mr Wong's shop. So she was soaked. I had to put on her extra outfit, but her jacket was unusable so we just had to put her inside our jackets. So needless to say we headed back shortly after that. This evening we took a short nap and we watched a movie. I miss Jay and the boys so much. I can not wait to get home.

Gotcha Day

I saw them come out of the play room as a big group. It was chaos, babies crying and kids everywhere. I saw her immediately. She was so tiny. A few seconds later the nanny handed her to me. She looked at me right in eye, she was so beautiful. It was an amazing feeling to finally hold her, we have waited so long. I handed her, her purse full of toys and she loved pulling the toys out and then putting them back in. She never cried, I was surprised. We came back to the hotel and she was so happy all night. She even slept well. She woke up a few times but always went right back to sleep when I patted on her back. I could not be happier.

Orphanage Visit

We have been so busy and exhausted I have been slacking on the blog. We went to the orphanage today. It was very nice. There were lots of sweet children there.
The drive was about 2 hours and Jayda fussed for over an hour. She was sleepy, but would not settle down. When we got there her foster mom came out and took her. She was happy to see her. When it was time for her to leave Jayda waved and did not fuss a bit. We visited the younger kids rooms but they were sleeping. Some of the older children were happy to see us and came running to greet us. They were very sweet. I was fortunate enough to meet some of the other children that will be coming home soon and I was able to get pictures to send to their parents. Several of the nannies came out of their rooms to talk to Jayda. She let a few of them hold her but it was not long until she reached out her arms to me. That made me feel great, she knows she is supposed to be with her momma. The ride home was better, we stopped at McDonalds then headed back. She slept the whole way. When we got back in the hotel lobby she was visibly happier and when we got in the room she was so glad to be there.
